• The NOVEMBER BIRTHDAY GUILD~will have corporate communion and will make their • THANKSGIVING BASKETS: Please donate can goods, nonperishable items or cash to help make this years gift baskets to needy families a reality. Items may be left in containers marked Thanksgiving Baskets. Thank you. • ANNUAL WOMEN'S DAY CELEBRATION will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. The Episcopal Church Women and Girls of Calvary (ECW &GC) are busy planning a joyful and delightful event. For this occasion many of the women and girls will wear something red, please feel free to join us if you wish. Immediately following the worship service a delicious brunch and excellent music have been planned. Donation for the brunch is: Adults - $20.00. Children (12 & under)- $10.00. For your tickets, please contact MaryRose Chappelle 202-396- 6676, or Rita Scott 202 575-4118 or any ECW member. • CALLING ALL WOMEN AND GIRL SINGERS!!! Each year a special "pick-up" Women's Day Choir is formed to sing during the Women's Day worship service. Please come and join us. You will be notified about the rehearsals. If interested, please call Edna Martin (301 568-4304) THE ALMS CLOSET- is launching its Thanksgiving Food Basket Project. Again, we will be working through the Capital Hill Group Ministry (CHGM) to make our donations. This year we will be making monetary contributions in the form of $20.00 food cards that will be placed in every basket for the family to purchase their meat(s) of choice. We are asking parishioners to support us by giving $20.00 for every family that you wish to support. Donations ofless than $20.00 will also be accepted and will be combined to amount to the cost ofa food card. We have set a goal to supply a minimum of 15 families with $20.00 food, so please be generous. All checks should be made out to Calvary Episcopal Church with a notation to Alms in the memo section of the check. Please give all donations to either Elise Joyner or Cheryl Anderson. Thank you. • 2009 Upcoming Annual Elections: The Nominating Committee would like to extend an invitation to all Calvary members to consider sharing your time, talents, and energy by running for one of the following positions that will be vacant: Junior Warden, Vestry Member, Delegate to the Diocesan Convention, and Nominating Committee Members.
